Punk!!!

Ok baby,its time to rock! Punk rock has influenced me ever since i got into it.
Esp The Ramones!
This genre is raw,wild,vivid and strong.Morever it has got a style of its own.i've seen many guys in our college sporting the so famous punk hairstyle(although they would not be having even the slightest idea of what it means!). Its a genre for rebel,for everyone.No long guitar solos,no intros,just pure music on the roll.Just 3 members,2 guitarists and a drummer is wat constitutes a punk rock band.
And u know what,nirvana was heavily influenced by punk rock!
Punk doesnt hav a very elaborate history.But when we talk of origins of this genre,definitely sex pistols and the ramones will come into picture.The ramones who started off back in '78 were almost non-stop untill they disbanded in '96 after a final show.Interestingly all the members died within a short span of the band being broken.Prominent members i know are lead singer joey ramone and dee dee ramone,their guitarist.I dont know which song to quote here! Coz all their songs are awesome,i havent heard a boring song yet! Here it goes in short...rockaway beach,kkk took my baby,sheena is a punk rocker,blitzkreig bop,do u wanna dance,my brain is hanging upside down,my sharona,hey ho lets go,rock n roll high school,i wanna be sedated,beat on the brat,gabba gabba hey.....List doesnt end here(man i just cant stop!)
Another pioneer of this genre were the sex pistols.Who can forget sid viscious,the man who became history at a very young age,but still gave us gr8 hits.
Clash is another vintage punk rock band,just heard one song 'london calling'.
I know most of the people dont know abt these bands,so here i come woth some familiar punk bands.
Green day.Who hasnt heard of them.Ruled most of the 90s punk.They idolized the ramones like any other punk band.
Then comes blink 182.A relatively newer band,but punk is all abt being new!
Really exciting when it comes to their music videos(most of them banned,esp the song all the small things!)
Then there is sum41 which has an indian guitarist for the record.Offspring is another notable band.
